BioChem is recognized as a pioneer of advanced water treatment technologies, including wastewater treatment, eutrophic lakes treatment, the protection of surface water, natural and artificial wetlands, chemical- wetland treatment systems, and the establishment of models to assess water quality improvement programs.
BioChem has a professional wetland team, including scientists, experts and technical supporting staff. They all have worked more than 25 years and carried out many ecological, biological and hydrological projects.
1. Wetland ecological strategy and sustainable development
2. Wetland ecological strategy and sustainable development
3. The integration of the targets and functions
4. The cooperation with government, colleges and enterprises
BioChem provides the design, optimization and implementation, including animal husbandry, industrial and agricultural wastewater, landfill leachate, acid mine drainage and eutrophic lakes.

In recent years, BioChem has developed a modeling software used to improve the hydrology, hydrodynamics and water quality.
Successful water quality improvement proposals need to have depth understanding on chemistry, physics, biology, engineering and ecological processes. BioChem has successfully completed many technical assessments on wetlands and chemical processing applications projects. These assessments provided important information like sustainability, economy, durability and the final system selection.
BioChem improves, repairs and restores wetlands for wildlife and fish. A variety of wildlife, especially birds and fish, can quickly adapt to new habitat. Many wildlife species live only in wetlands, but there are species only living in drylands. To the contrary of the prevailing scientific insights, BioChem experts found that firstly-introduced species was the habitat specialist, but habitats genius as well.
South-to-north Water Diversion Project is the China's largest civil engineering project, and Nansihu is an important intermediate lake. The successful work of the sewage treatment in this basin is directly related to the success of Diversion Project. The project was to investigate the sources of Nansihu, prioritize various point and non-point sources, to find out the most effective methods and measures to reduce pollutant loading. Moreover, improve the efficiency of sewage treatment plants improvements. Optimized plans were proposed to reduce pollutant emissions in the basin.
Ecological experts from BioChem provided ecological concept plan and water treatment programs for surface water and wastewater on the basis of a preliminary investigation on the scene and relevant model and data. In addition, a detailed analysis of the design and review of data were carried out to recheck water quantity and quality by means of on-site data and wetland models.
BioChem was invited to assist Shanghai Chongming Dongtan Investment and Development Co., Ltd. for the construction of Dongtan Wetland Park. It was to elucidate the function of design requirements and establish the functional requirements for aquatic organisms, wildlife, vegetation, tourists, hydrology, salinity, and water quality improvement.
Simultaneously, wastewater treatment technologies were applied to design the sewage treatment process, biological treatment pond STEP, wetland- SSF wetlands, water hyacinth wetlands, so as to make effluent nutrients less than the limit of eutrophication.
According to Shanghai Disney Buenos project, an artificial lake was built in Disney Park. The area of Central Lake was 0.39 km2 with capacity of 1.5 million m3. Water Treatment Plant would treat Canal River water, and provide irrigation water and cycle lake water to ensure the water fresh in case of algae outbreak. The effluent must meet standards of Sino-US agreement negotiated, especially TP≤0.02mg / l. Therefore, a pilot plant was set up in the park to verify the performance of treatment process.
