BioChem was invited to assist Shanghai Chongming Dongtan Investment and Development Co., Ltd. for the construction of Dongtan Wetland Park. It was to elucidate the function of design requirements and establish the functional requirements for aquatic organisms, wildlife, vegetation, tourists, hydrology, salinity, and water quality improvement.
Simultaneously, wastewater treatment technologies were applied to design the sewage treatment process, biological treatment pond STEP, wetland- SSF wetlands and water hyacinth wetlands, so as to make effluent nutrients less than the limit of eutrophication.
